This is a quick update. I recently had to uninstall VMware Server 2 from a Centos Linux server. After a little research I found that the quickest way to uninstall (if it was installed using the RPM installer) was to run the following command
rpm -e VMware-server-2.0.0-xxxxx
You may need to substitute your current version in the above command
As usual this may not be the only way to solve the issue but "It Fixed It for Me"
